It had been over 730 days since Sugar Rush Cupcakery & Co. opened its doors on Charles Street, and in that time? It could be counted on one hand the amount of times that Meadow had called out. All health related, there was rarely a holiday that kept her away for longer than a few hours. But after the weekend's last minute orders had been processed and the sudden appearance of an entire different person (human? alien? parasite? Meadow was still unsure of what to really consider M'gann) occupying space in her mind, she thought now was as good a time as any to call out. With M'gann's encouragement, she drafted a text to send to her employees. 'Taking a few days, need to recover. Call if you need anything!' Initial responses were that of concern, but after being reassured that it was just exhaustion, the reply texts were all variations of 'You deserve a couple of days!' and 'Take longer if you need, we're here!' It was comforting to know that even in her absence, her livelihood would not suffer.

She slept in for the first time in two years. It was absolutely glorious. Blinking a few times and sitting up in bed, she glanced around the room and let out a sigh. Meadow had fallen asleep but it was M'gann that was greeting the day. Gazing around the room, she caught sight of Meadow's two cats, curled up around one another, still fast asleep on the arm chair in the corner. They weren't bad, as far as cats went. When she had come home after the incident, the two had come around and suspiciously sniffed at her, but eventually warmed up to her once they realized that she was there to stay. Swinging her long legs over the side of the bed, she took a moment to stretch away the remaining bits of sleep, catching her reflection in the full length mirror. Pale bare skin, coppery red hair, a familiar reflection with only minor changes. No bit of green, no glowing red eyes, but she assumed that would come in time. Or maybe it wouldn't. M'gann had so many questions and very little to answer it. Her stomach growling cut into her thoughts and she was on her feet, pulling on articles of clothing as she made her way into the kitchen to grab something to satisfy her hunger on the way to further inspect the apartment in an effort to satisfy her curiosity.

Muffin in hand, she glanced around the apartment. Open concept, exposed beams, extremely modern. "Totally hipster, but it's home." Was Meadow's explanation of the space. Making a grab for the young woman's oversized purse, and dumping the contents onto the coffee table in front of the couch. She took inventory of it all as she dropped down, making a grab for the wallet. Taking a bite of the muffin, she set it down to use both hands to handle the documents. Pulling out her license, she read over the words, committing them to memory. Meadowlark Morris. Hair - red, eyes - green. Height? 5'10. Age? 30 years old. M'gann let out a breath as a smile appeared. Over the age of 21, an actual adult. Back on her home planet, she had been chronologically considered the earth age of 40, but biologically looked 16. So, coming to earth, she was quickly classified as a 'teen'. It proved to be a good thing, what with partnering with the teen titans, but it also proved frustrating because she always felt older than she looked. Finally, a look to somewhat match her age.

License tucked back into the spot it once occupied, she continued to search through to see if anything else caught her attention. A few credit cards, business cards from vendors, a ticket stub from an event, and a doggeared photo of two young redhead girls - one was Meadow and the other was... "Bea. That's Bea. She's our...my cousin." Another offering from Meadow and M'gann nodded. Someone to connect with, family. A rare concept for M'gann, and apparently, for Meadow, as well. M'gann glanced around at the photos framed on the walls. All of them seemed to be friends, not one of her parents. This piqued her interest but she didn't ask, the thought of family seemed to elicit a heavy, almost dark feeling. M'gann, naturally, could relate. They seemed to have quite a bit in common, after all. After rifling through the remaining odds and ends, she pushed the contents back into the purse, making a mental note to reorganize it at some point.

Muffin once again in her hands, she took another bite, thinking of what to do next. Her phone sprung to life from its spot on the table and read over the message that was sent. A quick response was typed back, and a few moments later? Another response. She had informed Thom/Ted that she had taken the day off and he quickly suggested that she try to keep her (Meadow's) life as 'normal' as possible. It was a smart suggestion, really. The headache seemed to lessen the more that the two got along, so she decided that it was best to continue to keep things status quo, just to avoid the pain.

The suggestion to hang out was made and she quickly took him up on the offer, and it was met with only a little pushback from Meadow. "Why the 'tude, dude? He seems cool, and he's apparently going through the same thing we are."

There was a sigh and delay before being given a response. "It's hard to explain but....just don't do anything embarrassing."

M'gann gave a roll of her eyes in response, abandoning her spot from the couch in favor of going back into the bedroom to explore the young woman's closet. "Whatever, I am the least embarrassing person in the world, ever!" A truth stretch, no doubt, but she wasn't going to actively try and do something that would be embarrassing. She could feel Meadow almost tugging to take over and she sighed, addressing her reflection in the mirror while holding her hands up as if to surrender. "I promise to do my best to uphold the integrity of your life. Or something like that." The tugging continued for a moment longer before eventually relenting. M'gann grinned and clapped her hands together. "Besides," she added, "It's not like I have the ability to read his mind at the moment. Now THAT would make things potentially embarrassing."

"Oh my god, cancel these plans immediately!"

"Slow down! I said I couldn't. No need to freak out. Apparently while I appeared, my abilities have yet to make an appearance."

"Just don't...okay? If they somehow appear. Don't do it. In fact, don't read anyone's mind, not just his. It's rude."

"Alright, I said I wouldn't and I won't! Now can you please enjoy your day off? You're starting to give me a headache."

"You mean us."

"Okay, fine. Us. You're giving us a headache."
